Hi. My name is Darcy, and I am a competitive swimmer. I have been a competitive swimmer for around 5 years. I swim on two swim teams, year round. The fremont hills barracudas, a summer swim team, and PASA DKS, a year round swim team. For you, swimming may seem easy at first, but it can get hard quickly. In this page, I will be showing you how to correctly prepare for a swim meet so you are able to race fast and have the materials you need.
1. The day before the swim meet, you should start packing your swim bag, I usally pack towels (2-3), swimsuits (3), googles (2), cap (2), parka, sharpies (2), ect.
2. I go to bed early (8:30-9:00) and try to have a good sleep.
3. I wake up at 5:30 am and put some healthy snacks (fruits, soup and ramen if its in the winter, tea, crackers) in a bag. Put my bags and chair in the car and eat breakfest (eggs, tea, toast, bread.)
4. Drive to pool and find where my teams tent is.
5. Do dynamic warm up, and water warm up. Write events down on your hand and get everything ready for your race.
6. Watch the events and leave early for your race. Be mindful of time.
7. Go home and rest for the next day, try to not do any activities that aren't needed. (Usally, swim meets end at anytime from 1-4.)
