I currently row for Norcal Crew. I started last year, in august, and this is my second year rowing. I am nationally ranked in the 2024 youth national u15 quad event. I enjoy rowing because of the connections and discipline it forces on you. Rowing is a very physically tough sport, where you need to train as hard as you can to get faster, or to improve your technique. Without discipline, you won't get ahead of your teamates and will fall behind, compared to taking extra time to train outside of practice and getting stronger than your teamates. The connections with my teamates feel like family even though I have known them for only 1.8 years.
I enjoy playing videogames. Whether it is to relax my brain after a long day of work, or to bond with my friends and make memories with them, they are some of my favorite activities. My favorite video games right now are EldenRing, Fortnite, Minecraft, and Brawlstars. EldenRing is a single player souls game, which means it is very challenging and difficult to beat. You can also install a mod which allows you to play with others, and I have beaten the game by myself, with my friends, and with my brother. The other two games are team games that require skill to win. These can help grow the connection between me and my friends so we feel connected, and calm my brain after a tiring day.
My family and I often travel to different countries or states 2-3 times a year. Last year we travelled to Japan and China twice, Florida, and Canada. In China, we went to visit my moms family and spend time with them. For Japan, we hiked Mount Fuji on our first stay, and we went to Naara and Osaka, and we visited around, looking at temples and experiencing their culture. In Canada, we went to Bannf and Jasper national park, and hiked around visiting many lakes, mountains and waterfall. For Florida, I went there for youth nationals and stayed there with my friends in a airbnb. I enjoy travelling around because it is a new experience and is a break from school and where I live.
