I started doing martial arts seven years ago. I went to five classes a week, even though you were only supposed to do three. I slowly madr my way up the ranks and was accepted into the black belt program. The black belt program is a commitment to which you train extremly hard for six months in order to get a black belt. Teachers watch you train for weeks before its time to begin the black belt program again, deciding which students are ready. The black belt program only happens twice a year, so the goal is to get in as soon as possible so that you dont have to wait six months for another change to prove yourself. While I was in my black belt training, I also started competing in sparring and forms tournaments. This boosted my file, causing the directors of the academy consider me for the demo team. Therefore, I finished my black belt test, performed a show, and was finally granted my black belt along with best technique. After that I was taken aside and offered the opportunity to join the demo team. The demo team is the team in my academy that goes to places like Vegas in order to perform. they perform all kinds of flips, kicks, spins, and turns. only one student gets accepted per year. Out of 800 students, only 30 were in the demo team. I accepted the offer, and I've been training for preformances ever since.
My basketball journey began when I was in third grade. Two of my friend's dad's made us a team, and we would practice for two hours every other day. I was by no means any good, in fact, I was scared of the ball. I would make a terrible pass automaticly after receving the ball. The following year we were in 4th grade. It was the same issue all over again. I decided that I was done being terrible, and that summer I started training. In fifth grade, I tried out for the Pinewood basketball team, and that year was the first year that I would make multiple shots and incredible passes during my games. I only got better in 6th grade, and in 7th grade I was made co-team captain and voted strongest player and best shooter. This year was the first year that we were undeafeated. I hope to pursue my basketball career in high school.
I started crocheting about three years ago, when I was in enthralled and inspired by a friend durng a class. The class was engineering, and our project was to rip apart a stuffed animal and make an entire new one used the materials. My friend unstiched the entire stuffed animal and began crocheting the stuffie back together. I went home that night and watch video after video, trying to grasp my mind around the hook and needle, however I just couldn't do the simple single loop. I remember watching my friend work the hook, and I just watched him go for hours. Sometime later, it just clicked for me. It was completely random, but I woke up and could suddenly crochet. I've made baby blankets, flowers, and coasters with my skill, and I have many upcoming projects for the future.
