My Hobbies

1. Playing Volleyball

Playing volleyball is a big passion of mine. It's my favorite thing to do, and it cheers me up whenever I play. I never get tired of it and I want to keep playing it in high school and hopefully professionaly in college. I used to spend so much time forcing myself to like a sport I didn't like, just for the sake of playing a sport, until I found volleyball. It holds a big place in my heart, and it makes up part of who I am today.

2. Playing Guzheng

Guzheng is a traditional Chinese string instrument. I found out about it when my mom asked me if I wanted to try taking one of her guzheng classes, and I immediately fell in love. It's a beautiful instrument, having many unique sounds and playing styles. It can sound like a calm, sunny day, a raging waterfall, and going into battle all at once. It really is a very versatile instrument. I also feel like it really connects me to my culture when I play.

3. Cooking

I enjoy cooking because it lets me express my creativity while also satisfying my love for food. There's something incredibly rewarding about taking simple ingredients and transforming them into something delicious. Cooking also gives me a sense of accomplishment, especially when I see others enjoying the food I've prepared. It's a relaxing and therapeutic process for me, where I can calm down and focus on the present instead of overthinking. Even though I'm not the best, it's a learning experience.
