I have been traveling my whole life and have seen many things but before this year, I had never been out of the country. Up until recently, I would only go to Hawaii or to Tahoe. It was very enjoyable but last year, I started watching travel videos about Japan but they were all in Japanese so I downloaded Duolingo and started learning Japanese. My mom found out and she said that we should go to Japan now that I am learning Japanese, so we went to Japan for my birthday. I absolutely loved it there and was very sad when I had to leave. My mom loved the trip to Japan so I started learning other languages of countries that I wanted to go to: mainly, Norwegian. My mom started planning a trip to go to Norway right before school started and I absolutely loved every single second I stayed there aside from when I was sick. Ever since then, I have realized that there is more to life than school. Traveling made me realize that life is different for everybody all around the world. Going to Norway was great for my family and I. My family has now realized that traveling is something that we all love.
I have also loved sports like baseball and sailing. I sail for three hours a week and I love it. I am practicing to join a high school Regatta. I would also like to get better at sailing so I can sail my family through the Norwegian Fjørds in the Lofoten Islands. Almost everything that I do relates back to traveling which is why is such a big part of me.
I also like math a lot and usually go to math competitions on the weekends. In addition, I have a math class on every Sunday that I enjoy. I have made many friends by meeting them with math competitions. I am also in an accelerated math program for school. 7th grade math is algebra 1 but I am in geometry which is an 8th grade course.
