My name is Lealah Choi. I am in junior high at Pinewood school. The classes I take are History, Computer Science, Literature, Physical Education, Writing, Science, Math, and Spanish. The classes are well balanced out, and each teacher is perfect for their class. My favorite classes are Writing, Math, and History. I am currently in semester 1, but I am excited for Art Class in semester 2. PE is definitely more strict this year, because we need to bring uniforms, and if we forget, we get points taken off.
In each subject, the classes are a mix of hands on projects, partner work, self work, and interesting topics and worksheets. I like most people in my classes, except I have none of my close friends in any of my classes. But through this, I have learned to talk and socialize with more people. I personally am a social butterfly, so when an awkward situation comes, I have learned to handle the situation calmly and at a steady pace. All the teachers care about my personal welfare and how I am doing in their class.
Before I went to pinewood, I struggled a lot mentally and educationally, and coming to pinewood has helped me a lot, because the school is smaller, the teachers are more genuine, and all in all the school is a safe community to be in. I like that there are different levels of most of the classes, such as Math and Spanish. This makes it so the teachers can focus more on each individual students, making sure that they are doing well and feeling comfortable in the subject.
