My name is Jessie and I am a seventh grader. I would describe my personality as dedicated, funny and creative. The main things I care about right now are my grades, volleyball and my friends. My life is quite simple. I go to school, have 4 classes, play volleyball and then come home. I have a younger sibling who also goes to my school. She is 8 years old and is my source for all that is fun and creative. In the summers we would spend hours sitting on the living room floor playing legos and drawing pictures. My creativity is usually powered by physical, real life things I can hold such as cardboard and plastic, but I also enjoy working on my computer. As of right now I’m taking an algorithms class which is teaching me how to put my ideas into code and translate it for the computer.
I have many hobbies but the one that I focus on the most is volleyball. I started playing volleyball when I was 11. I had one goal in mind, to get on a competitive club team. I do volleyball for around 10 hours a week and have accomplished my goal. Volleyball is really important to me and my schedule is packed with weekly lessons and practice sessions. Another hobby that I love is reading. My favorite book is the Fault in Our Stars by John Greene; it is a fictional tragedy. I love reading sad novels and listening to sad songs because I find them cathartic and therapeutic. My favorite artist is Lana Del Rey because I think her voice really conveys what the lyrics mean.Another thing I love is traveling. A reason I love volleyball is it lets me travel at least once a month. My favorite places to visit are mostly tropical like Hawaii. I love the beach. My favorite activity to do to calm down is swimming. love wading in the ocean as well. I also love spending time with my family. When I was younger, my family would go to the beach and spend a day swimming and digging in the sand. It is one of my happiest childhood memories.As much as I love being outdoors and in nature, I also love technology. I love coding because it’s all logical and understandable. I also love math. My dream job when I grow up is being an architect or a computer programmer.
